"If you want to visit your friends in US, you better cut down spending money on buying birthday gifts and cakes"- My Mum
Ok, I realized that yar, I do spent a lot a money on birthday gifts. Is like for all my friends birthday, I MUST GET SOMETHING for them...
Janelle say its a bad habit? She says like people who aren't close to me like Ahmad, I still got him a pressie too. I know its weird but I just can't help it!
I still remember those days in secondary 3-4 where I would like spent my own allowance getting cakes for all my classmates. I know my mum got somehow annoyed by it. Imagine, in the month of July(which has a lot of birthdays), every week you come home and open the fridge, you see a slice of cake inside...
I got this habit of "Must Get A Birthday Gift" when I was like primary 6? I just enjoy giving presents to people on their birthday. Its like, the day you were born into this world and shouldn't everyone around you rejoice that you are alive? Everyday is a battle and we came so far, and thus it is ESSENTIAL for one to receive something for his/her birthday.
